Criteria
Published material about R. Biasca in professional or major trade publications or other major media, relating to his work, in his field of specialization.

I have publications in major media concerning my work in the field.

Any search engine in Internet can pop-up hundreds of references when my name is entered.

I have been featured in over 200 articles and comments addressing my abilities in business, management and change management consulting. In addition to biographic publications, directories, and professional reference guides, comments appeared in newspapers, magazines, journals, radio, TV and Internet, in Argentina and other countries.

In this web site chapter, I will:

  • Provide examples of Internet searches.
  • Provide videos of TV interviews.
  • Provide examples of articles and written comments on my activities and incomplete lists of those comments published in the last 30 years (most comments in the last six years are not included).

As materials are numerous the amount of work needed to translate that content, makes the task not possible. Consequently, some representative examples are included. Even with examples the task is cumbersome.

During the last ten years, different comments (especially in newspapers and magazines) were published in different countries, after my short visits to them; most of the times I was not able to get copies of them.

Anyway, some additional evidence is presented in English.

I. WEBSITE

  • A - SEARCHES IN INTERNET

Any person can replicate the following searches in a popular Internet search engine:

  • A search by my first and last name (Rodolfo Biasca) in several languages. In Google, on 2/23/2006 , the search brought up 719 references. The same search in Yahoo resulted in 986 references.
  • A search with the same first and last name (Rodolfo Biasca) in English resulted in 464 references in Google and 218 in Yahoo.
  • The business transformation model explained in my books is known as “Biasca’s Model” (El Modelo Biasca). A search with these words in Google brought 511 references the same day.

Although searches in Internet with search engines are not perfect (in this case there are few references to the town of Biasca in Switzerland ) most references are valid. The amount (hundreds) and the kind of references give an idea that my work is known.

  • B - TV INTERVIEWS AND VIDEOS

In the next Exhibit is an explanation of www.biasca.com/videos/videos.html that has 13 (thirteen) short videos. Those videos can be seen with Real Player, a software that can be downloaded free of charge from Internet. Those videos contain TV interviews made to R.Biasca in different countries. Some of them are the beginning or the end or conferences or seminars.

It is probably relevant to mention that in Argentina there are two leading national newspapers (La Nación, www.lanacion.com.ar, and Clarin, www.clarin.com ) for the general public.

La Nacion has an imperfect searcher (http://buscador.lanacion.com.ar/) and some references can be checked.

The most important business newspapers are: Ambito Financiero, BAE and Cronista Comercial.

Please, notice that most of the references are in those leading newspapers.

Some selected examples are included is the following exhibit.

  • The first one is very old. It was published in business magazine that was leader in those days and it is important today (“Mercado”, see www.mercado.com.ar). Published in 1984, i.e. more than 20 years ago, it demonstrates that R.Biasca work has been notorious since a long time ago.
  • The second example, it is just a brief comment of two books in a logistics magazine.
  • The third one is an article with emphasis in the “Biasca’s Model”. Different media had labeled in that way the suggested approach to improve companies.

The first one is an ad in Nicaragua , indicating that an executive seminar will take place. Please, note that the seminar is sponsored by American Airlines and a local university (UAM).

The second example, it is just a brief comment of a workshop that is going to take place in Cali, Colombia .

  • F - FOREIGN MAGAZINES

The following selected examples will give an idea of my contributions, judged by peers in relevant magazines in different countries.

The first one is a thorough analysis of the book “Are we Competitive?” made by a professor of the Distrital University of Bogotá, Colombia, in a magazine published in year 2003 by the university. This university belongs to the city of Bogotá and its professors are known by its independence, impartiality and knowledge. Three and a half pages are dedicated to analyze the relevance of the book.

The second example, is from “Revista de Empresa” (that could be translated as the Magazine for Companies), published by the Instituto de Empresa (enterprise Institute) in Spain . In the rankings and listings of the better business schools in the world there are only a few European universities, this is one of them. A two page analysis by a professor of the Institute (and KPMG manager) describes the contributions of the book “Are we competitive?”. That comment can be downloaded from www.revistadeempresa.com/REVISTA/Public.nsf?MLIBVIS?OpenForm and it is in a list of the most read articles of this magazine.

The third one is a publication of different nature. The American Economic Association has a thick US publication called “Economic Literature” in which all the relevant economic publications in the world are annotated and some of them are commented. Two books (one as author and another as coauthor) from R.Biasca are commented. The most interesting aspect is that these comments appeared in September, 1985, i.e. more than 20 years ago. Again this is a demonstration of contributions made since decades.

The fourth example is quite recent (January 2006): in a financial magazine in Spain a brief comment of the second edition of the book “Are we competitive?” is included.

Previous exhibits demonstrated that there numerous references in Internet to R.Biasca’s contributions: authors (of articles, thesis, etc.) that mention his work, references to his books, etc.

In the following table the idea is to present a few, but different, examples.

The first one is a site dedicated to Change Management. Authors and consulting firms in that field of expertise are mentioned. R.Biasca as individual and Biasca & Associates as firm are mentioned.

The second example is a Korean site. It gathers publications and data that it judges is of interest. The content that collects is from all over the world. One book from Biasca is mentioned.

The third one is the site that has the papers presented in the Iberoamerican Academy of Management, Second International Conference. Papers to be presented by speakers are judged previously by experts and academicians. The material presented by R.Biasca in 2001 is mentioned.

The fourth example is an article that appeared in Argentine business magazine, the fifth is a comment in one Spanish site and the sixth is an article written by a turnaround expert that uses some concepts of R.Biasca as reference.
